1. switching between visual and text editors wrecks formatting

Problem: When editing a post or websites When switching between the visual and text editors, most of our formatting falls apart.

Solution: If I'm repeatedly tearingwhether You have this problem and want to get rid of it quickly, I recommend installing a plugin for this purpose TinyMCE Advanced.

2 Warning: Cannot Modify Header Information - Headers Already Sent

Problem: Most of the time after editing some template or WordPress file, you get an error:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by ...

Solution: This problem usually occurs because of hard spaces in the listed via file error (e.g. wp-config.php). Edit in the editor of your choice the file that is mentioned in the error (say, wp-config.php). Make sure there are no spaces both before tag and also after the ?> tag. In other words, the first characters in the document should be (of course taking into account that there are no spaces between "?" and "<" and ">" ).

3. maintenance error

Problem: After an aborted core WP update or mass update plugs we may get a message like this:

maintenance Solution: Of course, do not panic - the error should disappear by itself after about 5 minutes, but if you want to do it faster, log on to your ftp server and delete the automatically generated file .maintenance z main installation folder.

4. 404 Not Found!

Problem: We enter the entry and there: error 404!

Solution: This usually happens after changes in url addresses. Then go to Settings => Direct Links and make sure that the selected format meets our requirements and then save the link settings again (even if they were already selected as we want).

5. Spam! in the comments

Problem: I don't think this problem needs a description. How spam looks like everyone knows 😉

Solution:

1. It would be hard not to mention Akismet - check if you have updated the plugin to the latest version and if the API key is entered in the settings

2. Antispam Bee - you can read more about it here: http://wpsamurai.pl/jak-sie-bronic-przed-spamem-w-komentarzach-rewelecyjna-wtyczka-antispam-bee/

3. Instead of the standard comment system used by WP you can use Disqus. Perfectly handled by this one plug: http://wordpress.org/plugins/disqus-comment-system/

4. Change hosting at http://www.cloudflare.com (foreign) or zenbox.pl (Polish) - a very radical solution, but I recommend

6. memory exhausted

Problem:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted...

Solution: To file wp-config we add the formula:

define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M');

7 Automatic setting of the entry icon

Problem: This is more of an editorial problem but it is common for external writers to forget to add icons article entry.

Solution:

1. Using the plug-in Autoset Featured Imagewhich, if the entry icon is not set, uses the first image in the article for this purpose.

2. Or code that does exactly the same thing as the plugin mentioned above:

function autoset_featured() {
          global $post;
          $already_has_thumb = has_post_thumbnail($post->ID);
              if (!$already_has_thumb) {
              $attached_image = get_children( "post_parent=$post->ID&post_type=attachment&post_mime_type=image&numberposts=1" );
                          if ($attached_image) {
                                foreach ($attached_image as $attachment_id => $attachment) {
                                set_post_thumbnail($post->ID, $attachment_id);
                                }
                           }
                        }
      } //end function
add_action('the_post', 'autoset_featured');
add_action('save_post', 'autoset_featured');
add_action('draft_to_publish', 'autoset_featured');
add_action('new_to_publish', 'autoset_featured');
add_action('pending_to_publish', 'autoset_featured');
add_action('future_to_publish', 'autoset_featured');

We paste the code into the file functions.php our template.
