wordpress-7

It is often the case that we have to spend a long time looking for solutions that are, after all, right at our fingertips. Therefore In this post, I present 7 simple and concrete solutions to the 7 questions I chose.

1. colorful Google map in thousands of colors

Like get a color map Google for free? There are two plugs. The first is Snazzy Mapswhich uses maps created in the service https://snazzymaps.com. The other is one of the plugins in the list below:

All you need to do is install the Snazzy Maps plugin, select the map color you're interested in, and then activate it. Map placed from any plugin such as WP Google Maps itself will pick up the color we selected.

maps

There's plenty to choose from as we have 579 pages ready-made map colors.

2. Bootstrap menu in WordPress

We can get Bootstrap menus on WordPress in two ways. The first one is plug-in installation My Bootstrap Menu. After installing the plugin, simply go to Appearance -> My Bootstrap Menu and select the menu you want to be the Bootstrap menu.

bootstrap-menu

It is worth noting that we are dealing here with a really large number of interesting options. Which allow us for example to add a search engine to the menu, option logins etc. The second method is to use Bootstrap navwalker (source: https://github.com/twittem/wp-bootstrap-navwalker/ ), which was created via user Twitt. We download the file https://github.com/twittem/wp-bootstrap-navwalker and drop it into the theme folder.

Then to functions.php add the following code:

and then call up the menu using:

 'our_menu',
'depth' => 2,
'container' => false,
'menu_class' => 'nav navbar-nav',
'fallback_cb' => 'wp_page_menu',
//Process nav menu using our custom nav walker
'walker' => new wp_bootstrap_navwalker())
);
?>

If we coded from a ready-made theme Bootstrap under WordPress should be replaced with e.g. "menu_class" to our actual class from the theme.

3. initial-scale use

On the computer website scales beautifully, and when we turn it on on the phone suddenly the reponsivity stops working? Very often problem this is solved by using the following code:

If you're hungry for knowledge on this topic, you can find accurate information about it here: http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_rwd_viewport.asp.

4. esc_url( home_url( '/' ) ); vs bloginfo('template_url')

One of them, and more specifically bloginfo('template_url') can be successfully used for example to load CSS files, for example:

while the other gives us a path websites.

The effect of using: is "http://naszawitryna.pl/"

but when we call we get "http://naszawitryna.pl/wp-content/themes/naszmotyw"

5. Seo by Yoast vs All in one seo pack

The two most popular plugins, YOAST SEO i All in One SEO Pack. The primary difference? Yoast It will handle Breadcrumb Navigation, but All in one seo pack has Bad Bot Blocker. It is also simpler and faster to set up, but has slightly less options available than YOAST, but it will generate meta, not very unique, but still. Usually YOAST is installed on landing pages and All in One Seo Pack is installed on back-end pages.

Polish characters in Google Font on WordPress

The font has beautiful characters in Polish, but unfortunately they are not displayed in your case? First of all, check, whether Your font supports Polish characters or just choose one from the list below: http://netwizards.com.pl/zasoby/darmowe-polskie-czcionki-google-fonts-z-polskimi-znakami/

If you don't see Polish characters, add to the end address on import: &subset=latin-ext which means the link should look like:

When it comes to WordPress, can be use the subst_latin plugin http://iworks.pl/2014/08/15/filtr-dnia-style_loader_src-czyli-zawsze-polskie-znaki/ or install Use Any Font.

7. simple loop for custom post with taxonomy

How do we determine that we are on a single entry from a given taxonomy of a selected custom post? The loop I present below is not the most optimal, but it is universal.

ID , 'taxonomy_for_our_type_insert' );
foreach ( $terms as $term ) {
if ($term->name=='our_lobbied_taxonomy') {
echo ' I'm here! ';
}
}
}
?>

As you can see above, first we check to see if we are on a single post of a given post type, then we check to see if it is in a given category (taxonomy) and if everything matches, we display the caption and instead we can display, for example, a special form Sign up for newsletters only for people interested in a particular topic.

In conclusion

If you like such a post and would like more such short answers to various WordPress questions, leave a comment, it will be very motivating.
