Visual Composer for WordPress - burning problem or good friend?
Visual Composer for WordPress to plugwith which everyone has previously whether will meet later. Sold over 63,000 times, available as a set with co The second theme from Themeforest and it already has dozens of its own extensions.
A few words about the plug-in itself
Visual Composer allows us to arrange content using blocks, which we handle using the "pick up and drop" method. This involves the creation of a container, in which we set subsequent blocks, thus creating a beautiful-looking pagesą.
Visual editor in plug-in mode looks like this:
Meanwhile, the visual editor built into WordPress looks like this:
A code websites looks like this:
What am I getting at?
The plugin creates incredible amounts of code at a very fast pace. In the presentation you can see only 3 blocks arranged in one common container. If you have bigger ambitions and for example use Visual Composer to create websites mainor the much more elaborate subpages there will be much, much more to this code.
Next problem is that we're becoming doomed to this plug. I.e. if you use it for something more than creating, say, a few subpages, and you start using it normally in creating entriesIf you change your theme, you may be unpleasantly surprised. Because while it works with most of the paid themethose of ThemeforestWith third-party or free themes it is not so colorful and often errors appear, mainly due to CSS problems.
If you have this plugin bundled with your theme, and you want to buy extension, you will come across a catch. Most extensions for Visual Composer only work with its latest version. This means that with the theme included almost never this one is available. This causes that if you bought an extension to Visual Composer, which de facto you legally own, you have to buy yet its to have access to its latest version, which you are not entitled to if you received the plugin with the theme. Such a small catch that if you spent 10$ on an extension, and to its work you need the latest version of Visual Composer, you must, either consider that money lost, or expect to spend another 33$ on Visual Composer to have access to its latest version.
Could 60,000 thousand people be wrong?
This plugin of course simplifies the creation of subpages tremendously. Creating a nice looking "about us" page, "FAQ" or even a gallery with our works is much easier. In addition, due to the presence of so many extensions, we can easily, for example, create a subpage with the price list using a paid extension for price tables or buy a photo gallery that we like the most.
Creating a subpage "contact" using this plugs takes a while, and it works with some of the most popular free add-ons like Contact form 7, which makes things even easier.
To use or not to use?
The situation is relatively obvious. Everything is for people, but... you have to find the golden mean. Creating a landing page, an "about us" subpage, or other individual pages of a website using Visual Composer is a good idea. But when it comes to using it for posts or building elaborate visions that have been in your head so far, it can backfire on us.
